“The CELLS” is an international project showing the variety of paintings presentation & the process of moving the form into content. The first trial show of «CELLS» project was demonstrated on Art Helsinki in 2016, where 40 works from so called «Trouble series» by Simon Gulyako were displayed & next time in The State Russian museum in the vivid & grandeous exhibition «Structures», where 36 works from the same series by Simon Gulyako were shown. In the present exhibition on the sample of 6 middle-sized paper lists 83x65 of Black & red dramatic, abstract tempera compositions of Simon Gulyako under the title Red & Black we can see how an independent composition becomes part of a big project & repeatedly reinforced visual impact. 6 paper lists are framed by the black thin frames & displayed close to each other as a whole composition with the perpendicular lines. Being an honest & independent artist, Simon Gulyako usually got his compositions under the influence of European & Russian music. The above mentioned series was created as an effect of the Dmitry Shostakovich 14 th symphony. Simon’s Gulyako free paint pouring under musical accompanying of the genius composer gave a meditative dramatic sharp contrasted color & composition result.
