George Alexandrovich Mikhailov (1916-2004)
"The dream of an engineer"

01.11.2016 - 31.12.2016
Mikhailov G.A.graduated Leningrad engineering-constructor's institute, the honoured architect of the former Soviet Union, the author of Leningrad metro vestibules Mayakovskaya & Alexander Nevsky Square. Many of his drawings he considered as a hobby & created in the evenings under the light of a green lamp.In the faces of his models you can find the features of his family members:his wife & daughter in law.The exhibited paintings are interesting from the historical, ethnographical & design point of view. You can see the interior details of the 70-s,haidressing & make up of the same time. The artificially shaped figures & smiling faces underline the secret dreams about the harmonious life.Unexpectedly the heroines of the paintings are displayed in the lakes, ponds & other water surroundings & are still happy despite the wet dresses. So,in a such a way realised the thoughtless dreams of a serious person,an engineer, builder & architect.
